Son Macaron

Oh, how I love this game! Son Macaron is a beat-passing game where students lay their right hand palm up in the hand of their right-side neighbour's left hand (phew, that's a lot of directions) and then pass the beat by crossing their right hand over to tap on the hand of their other neighbour.

At the end of the song, the person who is passing the beat must try to catch the hand of their neighbour, while their neighbour must try to escape in time - whoever loses the exchange is out and must move outside the circle.

To further engage students, I have a set of cards with all of the lyrics in sections, each with an untuned percussion instrument assigned to them. When a student is out, they must pick up an instrument and play along with the rhythm of that section of the song.

You can grab this set of cards for FREE (ooooh!) from my TeachersPayTeachers store and don't forget to like the Facebook page for some great deals on puppets coming up over January!
